Weddings at The Washington Inn

Weddings at The Washington Inn are just as romantic and special as you have heard or imagined. Voted as one of the top five "Most Romantic Places to be Married" by New Jersey Monthly Magazine, our gracious 1842 plantation-style mansion in the Historic District of Cape May boasts five unique dining rooms.

From our romantic Garden Room and the Summer Patio with its flower-capped wrought-iron fountain to the Main Dining Room adorned with soft lighting and warm fireplaces, the intimate Wine Cellar, and the Victorian Lounge -each of our dining rooms provides a distinctive charm.

And best of all, on your wedding day, it's all yours! You and your guests can enjoy the entire Inn and the utmost in personal service and attention. We can even arrange to have your wedding ceremony at the Inn. One hundred guests can be accommodated at a traditional seated reception; approximately 135 guests at an "hors d'oeuvres style" reception, where the sitting is less and the mingling is more.

There is no fee to have your reception with us. The Inn is yours to enjoy from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Our minimum for a private reception at the Inn is 50 guests (depending on the time of year).

With our area partners, we have the ability to work and coordinate with you every step of the way. From beautiful floral arrangements to photography, transportation, guest accommodations, and entertainment: you'll have the best of Cape May at your fingertips.

Your wedding day is a celebration of you - your taste, style, and spirit. Wedding director Randall Segal will guide you through the sometimes overwhelming process of creating your own perfect wedding. Our entire catering team is well versed in providing today's brides and grooms with the service and excellence they deserve. Vineyard Weddings at the Beach

Passionate, sensual, and romantic … a vineyard wedding is a sophisticated, elegant, and unique wedding site location. That’s why the Washington Inn has begun to cater wedding receptions and parties at the Isaac Smith Vineyards, a beautiful, picturesque vineyard site in Cape May.  

The 5-acre vineyard located on Seashore Road is the area’s newest and best kept secret location for weddings. Acres of vineyards planted with plump Chardonnay and Merlot grapes set a romantic landscape backdrop that is not usually seen at the shore. A circa 1820 farmhouse, herb garden, and fountain pond add to the charming, pastoral atmosphere. Weddings and events for up to 200 guests can be accommodated outside under festive tents.

Wine has long symbolized generations, growth, harvest, and celebration, so we are especially excited to be hosting weddings at this gorgeous site. For a sit down, we suggest one or two entrees; for a buffet, three is nice. Please keep in mind that many of the meat entrees, if chosen for a buffet, will be served "Carving Station" style. Many of the seafood items can be served carving-style or in chafing dishes.
